As an LGBTQ+ nonprofit organization, IGLTA celebrates pride 365 days a year in the work that we do. However, we also celebrate this June as the world is uniting to honor and celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride together! We recognize the important history that began on Christopher Street Liberation Day on 28 June 1970 – when a revolution was sparked for equality. Ever since parades and festivals have honored each individual's right to express their true selves irrespective of their sexual orientation or gender identity. From Albuquerque to Winnipeg, Aarhus to Zurich, Bali to Tijuana - cities across the globe are illuminated with parades and festivals that recognize each of us as worthy of dignity and visibility no matter our colors within this rainbow.
