Hey NJTC Team!
We hope this newsletter finds you well and enjoying the summer season. It's been an exciting time for North Jeffco Tennis Club, and we have some fantastic updates to share with you all!
Summer High School Tennis Program
We are thrilled to announce the overwhelming success of our Summer High School Tennis Program. Over a dozen talented students are currently benefiting from the highest level of coaching available, refining their skills and making remarkable progress. We are proud to provide such a valuable opportunity for these aspiring athletes, and we look forward to seeing their continued growth and success on the tennis court.
Recognition for the Apex 5th Birthday Bash Committee
We want to take a moment to recognize the incredible efforts of the Apex 5th Birthday Bash Committee. Your hard work and dedication made our recent celebration a resounding success. It was a joyous occasion filled with tennis, laughter, and camaraderie, and we are grateful to everyone who contributed to its triumph. Thank you for your commitment to making North Jeffco Tennis Club an exceptional place for all tennis enthusiasts.

Announcing the NJTC Scholarship Program!
On behalf of the NJTC Board we are excited to announce the introduction of the NJTC Scholarship program. North Jeffco Tennis Club (NJTC) has established a program to reward college-bound high school tennis players for their hard work and dedication; both on and off the court!   
The Scholarship Committee intends to award our first scholarships in January of 2024, to one boy's tennis player and to one girl's tennis player.
Eligibility Applicants and recipients must: 
• Play on a high school tennis team at a North Jeffco area high school (Arvada, Arvada West, Pomona, Ralston Valley). 
• Be a graduating senior in the scholarship year (2024, e.g.) 
• Remain in good academic and disciplinary status. 
• Have applied to, or be enrolling in, a full-time course of undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, vocational or technical school. 
• Be a US citizen residing in Colorado. 
Please watch for more information regarding the application process in upcoming newsletters and posted on the bulletin board at the Apex Tennis Center.

It's easy to support the NJTC Scholarship fund!
• Purchase NJTC Scholarship branded gear at upcoming events.
• Donate directly to the fund. Please contact Jason Bolton (president@njtctennis.com) or Anne Leoni (vp@njtctennis.com) for information on donating.
We would like to thank Connie and Gary Tucker for their inaugural donation to the NJTC Scholarship fund - this was a great way to kick start the fund! The club is so excited to support the youth in our community!
NJTC Scholarship Merchandise
We're excited to announce that the new NJTC Scholarship hats and stickers will be available for purchase on our website soon! T-shirts are also right around the corner. By purchasing these items, you not only show your NJTC Club spirit but contribute to the NJTC Scholarship fund as well, enabling us to support deserving young tennis players in our community in pursuing their dreams. Stay tuned for updates on their availability, and be sure to grab your NJTC merchandise to show your support.

NJTC Scholarship Fundraiser BBQ
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who supported our Scholarship Fundraiser BBQ at the Women's District Tennis Weekend at the ATC. With your help, we were able to raise over $700 which will contribute significantly to the brand new NJTC Scholarship fund benefiting local college-bound high school tennis players. Special thanks go out to Spicy Pete and Sydney Stroup from Lechuga's Italian Restaurant for their generous support in making this event a resounding success. A huge shout-out goes to all the dedicated volunteers who gave their time and energy to make the Scholarship Fundraiser BBQ a fun and memorable couple of days. Your enthusiasm and hard work truly made a difference in raising funds for our scholarship program. We are immensely grateful for your unwavering support.

Leagues
We are in the heart of the season and have updates on a couple of items!
NJTC Volunteer Opportunity
• Do you have an analytical mind and organizational skills?
• Do any of your team members or captains fit that bill?
• We need two individuals to take on the League Coordinating roles for next year.
Send us your names and suggestions. It truly takes a village to keep our Club going strong!
Score Entry Deadlines and Double Defaults
If you have rescheduled matches (for allowed reasons), please remember that those matches must be played within three (3) weeks or by the score entry deadline listed on the League calendar, whichever comes first. Matches that do not have scores entered on time will be input as double defaults and are not allowed to count in final standings.
Advancing Teams
NJTC had lots of teams advance to playoffs already, so big congratulations as four of them are going to Sectionals!

Tennis in Town
Summer Fun in the Sun ☔️ 😎?
What a start to the Summer of 2023! The 5th Birthday Bash for the Apex Tennis Center was a day to remember. We were getting ready for the start of play with the storm clouds moving in and then the rain came down for about an hour. Jen and Molly were checking out their weather apps and were “confident” that the rain would stop soon and the sun would come out again. It did. The Apex staff quickly dried the courts and we all got to play and do drills with the pros. The highlight of the day was the clash of the titans. Kim’s brother and beau, Kevin and Greg vs her young bucks, Luke and Woody. These guys are so good, they wowed the crowd with every shot!
District Tournament
This past weekend, the ATC hosted the Women’s 4.0 and 4.5, 18+ USTA District Tournament. Our Club provided food and cold drinks for the players with all proceeds going to the NJTC Scholarship fund. A special thanks to USTA tournament directors Mary Brennan and Nikki Hola and the ATC staff and management for a wonderful tournament.

NJTC Summer Saturday Socials
Upcoming Socials at the Apex Tennis Center:  Jul 15, Aug 26,  Sep 16. Aug 12 is the Lakewood Challenge held at the ATC. Lakewood Club (LTA) and NJTC get together for a big summer social and BBQ.
