Boys Will be Boys is an emotionally charged evening of dance that dissects and investigates the effects of toxic-masculinity on American boyhood. Featuring a multi-disciplined and diverse cast of three dancers, alongside one of Miami’s hottest Drag Artists, CC Glitzer. The evening showcases contemporary dance, tap, dance theater, drag, and vogue dance culture. In his own words, choreographer Randolph Ward states, “this work takes inspiration from my own life as a young black gay male, growing up in Liberty City and studying classical ballet. This work confronts a world dominated by masculine toxicity and explores the question: where is it safe for a man to express, to be gentle, to cry, to be seen? The socialization of boys is one that fosters and normalizes violence. This evening peels back the mask of masculinity”.
