Founded in 1988 in the United States on the belief that homophobia thrives in an atmosphere of silence and ignorance, National Coming Out Day has helped countless of our LGBTQ+ sisters and brothers to summon the courage to open up to loved ones and is now celebrated in many countries, including the U.K., Australia, Canada, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. We believe that each person who speaks up changes more hearts and minds, creating new advocates for equality.

| Greece is the birthplace of democracy, the Olympic Games, Western Philosophy and Western theories of tragedy and comedy. It is also ancient, with the capital, Athens, one of the oldest and longest continuously inhabited cities in the world. It has more than 2,000 islands, of which around 170 are populated.
