HELPING MARGINALIZED TRANS COMMUNITIES IN NEPAL THROUGH TRAVEL & TOURISM
Nepal is a country caught up in the winds of change. Just this year the Supreme Court have instructed the government to legally recognize same sex marriage within the country. Nepal has a reputation as being progressive in comparison to many of its neighbors – indeed all the way back in 2007 important legislation was put into place to protect LGBTQ+ people from discrimination, both in the workplace and society in general. However, Nepalese law only permits for transgender men and women to change their legal gender to “other” and not to male or female. Tourism has always been a good catalyst for progressive change in the world and through the hard work of those within the travel industry the winds of change can be fanned.

LGBTQ+ TRAVEL GUIDE TO FRANCE
France is one of the most visited countries in the world, consistently topping the UN’s World Tourism Organization annual report on the country that receives the most visitors. France is considered one of the most LGBTQ+ friendly countries in the world, consistently coming at the top of LGBTQ+ reports, such as the Spartacus gay travel index and the ILGA Rainbow Europe study. Same-sex marriage has been legal in France since 2013 and was one of the first countries to decriminalize homosexuality back in 1791. The French have always maintained a laissez-faire attitude toward sexuality, i.e. not interfering in matters that may seem too personal and respecting the privacy of others. As an LGBTQ+ traveler in France you are unlikely to experience any problems.
