IGLTA is proud to celebrate Lesbian Visibility Day on 26 April and aims to cultivate an inclusive environment for all lesbian women, non-binary people, and BTQIA+ communities alike. Since its inception in 2008 this special occasion has provided a platform for individuals such as Lena Waithe and Megan Rapinoe to share important messages about representation issues regarding the lesbian community. As of 2020 it was expanded into Lesbian Visibility Week throughout the United Kingdom, honoring those who have come out publicly and shared their stories from around the world.

LGBTQ+ TRAVEL GUIDE TO NEW ZEALAND
|
New Zealand's combination of beauty, friendliness and its booming arts and culinary scenes put it high on the bucket lists of many LGBTQ+ travelers. The country has an excellent reputation in terms of LGBTQ+ rights and inclusion, and is generally considered a bit more progressive than its big sister to the west, Australia. Movie lovers know that its otherworldly landscapes made it the perfect backdrop for the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, filmed at more than 150 locations around the country. Despite the easygoing Kiwi pace, lovers of outdoor adventure will find endless possibilities in New Zealand, including sky diving, bungee jumping, and more uniquely local options like black water rafting—floating through subterranean caves by the eerie light of glow worms.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG IN WASHINGTON DC
|
Washington, D.C. is perfect for a long spring weekend. The cherry blossoms are in bloom, the museums have tons of new exhibits, and the weather is perfect in the most walkable (and queerest) U.S. city. Fly via Reagan (aka DCA), one of the best airports in the country. Enjoy its stunning architecture and the convenience to the city, which others can't beat. The new Planet Word Museum is interesting, and all the Smithsonian Museums are free. You can take a walk or a run with the Frontrunners, the LGBTQ+ walking and running group or experience the nightlife at Number Nine, where something is going on every night including a viewing of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
