In addition to the action on the field, May is a special month for me, my wife Cynthia and my family and our philanthropy, The Bruce and Cynthia Sherman Charitable Foundation. We personally recognize the accomplishments of individuals who fight to overcome Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. GIRL SCOUTS OF TROPICAL FLORIDA CENTENNIAL MURAL
|
Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida unveiled a Centennial Mural in Wynwood, celebrating 100 Years of Girl Scouting in Miami-Dade and the Keys. The mural was made possible by The Miami Foundation, Cindy and Irv Lerner, and muralist Rudy Mendez. Mendez’s design incorporated the assistance of five Girl Scouts who participated in painting patches that represent the Girl Scout pillars: STEM, Outdoors, Entrepreneurship and Life Skills. The mural is located off NW 3rd Ave. between 25th and 26th Streets. GSTF is proud to be one of the oldest nonprofit organizations in Miami. Voices for Children Golf Tournament raises $330,000 for the charity

May 8th was a beautiful day for golf at La Gorce Country Club on Miami Beach where Voices for Children raised funds to support their Guardian Ad Litem program. Board member Brad Meltzer orchestrated the event that raised $330,000 thanks to generous sponsors and donors who enjoyed a day on the beautiful course with all the amenities from great food to an open bar. Adding the fun that day was the announcement that someone had won the “Hole-In-One”. That lucky golfer, Blake Murphy from Coastal Construction, won a new Cadillac.
