Greetings!
Nearly the entire month of January has seen snow and ice blanketing the land here at Walter Scott. It was serene and beautiful but also brought along with it prolonged cold temperatures that tested some of our aging systems (mainly furnaces and outdoor water spigots). Thankfully no lasting damage was caused, but we do have a few appliances we'll be replacing (and transitioning to more planet friendly options as we do so). These are some exciting updates to continue to keep our facility hospitable, especially as we look towards an already full calendar for 2025.
With camp registrations open and directors in place for the upcoming summer, excitement is building around our camping ministry. We will continue to be a place where the love of God is experienced by all our campers as the radical acceptance and hospitality of Christ is lived out by our staff. This Holy Ground is ready for another year of embodying the love of Jesus for all who set foot in this place.
As a final note, while I did mention the upcoming narrative review of 2024 in our December edition, we have decided to make it a video which will feature in the February release. We look forward to telling the story of our shared ministry in this accessible format next month!
