Next week on 26 April, IGLTA proudly joins the world in celebrating Lesbian Visibility Day, a powerful moment to honor lesbian identity and uplift LGBTQIA+ women and non-binary people. Since its inception in 2008, this important day has amplified voices within the community, providing a platform to share stories and experiences while highlighting ongoing representation challenges. Figures like Lena Waithe and Megan Rapinoe have used the occasion to share vital messages on visibility and equality, inspiring progress and awareness. IGLTA remains committed to supporting and empowering the lesbian community worldwide.

BOSTON HOSTS THE FIRST-EVER MULTIDAY QUEER FOOD FESTIVAL
From 28 April to 4 May, Big Queer Food Fest brings a weeklong celebration of LGBTQIA+ chefs, authors, mixologists, and food lovers to Boston. Highlights include the star-studded Grand Tasting at High Street Place, a drag-hosted tea party at the Boston Tea Party Museum, intimate chef dinners, riveting chef and author discussions, and more. Expect delicious bites, beautiful personalities, and unforgettable moments across the city. CARNIVAL IN BRAZIL AND THE INCLUSION OF THE LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY
Carnival in Brazil, one of the largest and most iconic events in the world, has become increasingly inclusive for the LGBTQ+ community and its visitors. This shift has had a positive impact on the tourism industry, attracting millions of travelers, with a significant portion belonging to the LGBTQ+ community. Today, it is almost impossible to take a photo of Carnival without capturing LGBTQ+ couples celebrating in the streets and at parties. Just a few years ago, there wasn’t as much visibility for this community during the celebrations, but that reality has changed. Brazilian laws now have stronger protections against LGBTQ+ discrimination, strengthening an environment of acceptance and respect.
