| IGLTA joins the fight against bullying and stands in solidarity with LGBTQ+ youth by celebrating Spirit Day on 19 October. Starting as an act of compassion from a Canadian teenager, Brittany McMillan, this day emerged in response to tragic incidents like that of Tyler Clementi, to draw attention to the urgent need to put an end to homophobic attacks experienced globally by young people. Recent research from The Trevor Project reveals that more than 50% of LGBTQ+ middle and high students have suffered verbal or physical harassment within the past year. We must work together to promote a safer environment worldwide for LGBTQ+ youth. |

LGBTQ+ TRAVEL GUIDE TO BRAZIL
|
| Brazil is the largest and most populated country in South America and Brazilians are well known to be friendly to foreigners, welcoming them as if they were old friends. With such diverse offerings, Brazil is a visitor’s paradise. Incredible beaches, jungle, cold weather in the hills, adventure, desert landscapes and mega cities are just a few of the things awaiting you in Brazil. Even traveling from the south to the north is a different experience thanks to the unique cultures found in a country of its size. In fact, this diversity can even be a culture shock for Brazilians themselves traveling within their own country. When it comes to finding LGBTQ+ friendly destinations in Brazil, there are a range of options, but most are located along the east coast. | Image credit: Mercedes Mehling/Unsplash |
