IGLTA stands proudly with the LGBTQ+ community for this year’s Pride celebrations, a powerful time for both joyful expression and reflection on the movement’s history. Pride traces back to Christopher Street Liberation Day on 28 June 1970, marking the first anniversary of the Stonewall Riots and sparking a global revolution for equality. Since then, parades and festivals have honored every individual’s right to express their true selves, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Beyond celebration, Pride serves as a vital act of resistance, providing a united front against discrimination while amplifying the voices of the diverse LGBTQ+ community.
