If this is your first Vito newsletter, welcome! This newsletter is an experiment of sorts: Paul and I email each other weekly-ish, with you lovely people bcc’d. As always, thanks for reading. If you have any feedback on this newsletter, or any recent changes to Vito we’d love to hear from you — you can just reply to this email.

Hey Paul,

And Happy New Year, if I’m allowed to say that at the end of January!

So we’re back at it. The team seem well-rested and we’re stuck into the first couple of Vito projects of the year. The first has already shipped: a refreshed marketing site with a home page for logging into Vito, a Learn More page for potential organisers and a new hub showcase page.

The next big step is preparing the platform for our open beta period which will be in the next few weeks. This includes plan-related usage restrictions and a new onboarding flow. Super excited to be able to open the doors to a wider audience now that most of the niggles have been ironed out.

Speaking of showcasing hubs, it’s exciting to be hosting the Vue.js Nation conference which starts tomorrow, particularly since Vito is built on Vue.

Out in the real world Ireland has just lifted most of its Covid restrictions. You can now eat at a restaurant past 8pm, gather in unlimited numbers and—if you were so inclined—party in a nightclub until the early hours. To be honest, I am not planning to do any of those things, but I am interested to see how the conference and meet-up scenes react. Not only from a business perspective, but also I’m really craving being able to see friends, colleagues and peers who live abroad. Maybe 2022 is the year that (safely) starts to happen again… here’s hoping.

Until next time,

— Doc
