International Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) on 31 March is both about celebrating past achievements made by the transgender community and supporting them during the recent troubling times. Its principle aims to uplift all those who identify with a gender other than that assigned at birth and create awareness about discrimination still faced by many today. TDOV was founded in 2009 by Michigan-based Rachel Crandall (she/her) to highlight the accomplishments of transgender people and combat negative press surrounding trans violence. IGLTA believes that TDOV is even more important than ever and strives to join the battle to eliminate discrimination against trans people throughout society - keeping the T firmly within LGBTQ+.
