Europe’s regions and regional ecosystems are of key focal interest and importance, economically, socially and politically. BEYOND4.0
therefore pays specific attention to the impact of digitization and Industry4.0 on the regions, both retrospectively and prospectively. Our June 2019 BEYOND4.0
Summer School in San Sebastian meant the effective start of BEYOND4.0
’s regional work package, with in-depth regional and ecosystem analyses, but also a number of workshops in the regions (April-June 2020) ahead of us.
In the oncoming years, various regions and ecosystems will be investigated, highlighting best practices, providing new policy insights and useful do’s and don’ts, with regard to 1. Work and human capital, 2. Social inclusion, and 3. (re)Distribution issues.
BEYOND4.0
will also be present in one of the central sessions during the oncoming European Week of Cities and Regions dubbed “Shaping our Future in Smarter Regions and Cities: Digitalisation, Jobs & Growth” (7-10 October 2019).
