Last week, Mayor Alex Penelas published an op-ed with Community Newspapers on the state of mental healthcare in Miami-Dade County. After receiving an outpouring of public interest in a more substantive conversation on mental health, we reached out to Mayor Penelas' team to gauge their interest in holding a virtual forum to describe a mental healthcare plan for Miami-Dade County in more detail.
Today, we are pleased to announce that they have agreed to do so on the evening of July 20th, at 6pm. It will be Live on Miami's Community Newspapers Facebook. Our virtual forum will also include immediate reaction and feedback from a number of Miami-Dade County residents, who will offer their opinions on what the future of mental healthcare in our community should be.
