A few images from a WWII Vintage Aircraft photo shoot I was at a few weeks ago, featuring night shots of running planes, authentic crew reenactors, and WWII style pinup shots. I'm still going through my images from that trip so be sure to recheck the gallery later this week for new images I'll be adding. |
Last week I was shooting lighthouses on Lakes Superior and Michigan. I just got back few days ago and am still going through my images so be sure to recheck the gallery later this week for new images I'll be adding. | |
This weekend is Wichita's Autumn & Art show, but since the in-person show has been cancelled they are hosting a virtual art show this weekend. It's free and you don't need to live in Wichita to participate! I know I miss interacting with all of you, and you probably miss interacting with the artists. So this is an excellent chance for anyone to experience that again in a virtual setting. I have used this format before and it is very effective. This time the hours will match the physical show, Fri. night from 6-9, Sat.10-7 and Sun. 10-5. I and the other artists participating will be available for video chatting from our virtual booths. I'll have a mini-booth set up at home and can answer your questions about my work, share the story behind each image, show you specific images, talk price, framing, and answer any questions. Or just stop by to say "Hi"! Click on autumnandart.com/festival_info.php starting at 6:00 p.m. Friday to visit the virtual show.
I'm also going to extend my two recent sales through September. "Statement Piece" Sale
My "Statement Piece" images are the large images I hang in my art show booth. If you've ever wished you could have one of those this is the deal for you. I am offering all of my large (mostly 24x36 or larger) framed pieces at a significant discount, most 35%-50% or more. This is only for those I have on hand, so once it sells at the sale price it is gone.
For these large pieces I will add the actual shipping price to your location, which can vary depending on the size and destination. If you can get to Tulsa you can pick up for no additional charge. I can also deliver in the Tulsa area. I am going to present these in a different way, inviting you to virtually visit my actual art show booth. I have a gallery on my website showing all my framed items as they hang on the wall of my booth, from various shows in the last year. This way you can see them hanging to get a sense of scale (Note my booth walls are about 8 feet tall). I've labeled each piece with size and price. So you will be virtually walking through my booth! Here is an example:

| I don't have these set up to complete the purchase online, so if you are interested either ask during the virtual show this week, or contact me later and I can can provide the details, pricing options, give you a closer look at the frame, and discuss shipping. I can be reached by voice or text at 918-809-6325, or at johnkennington@gmail.com. If you'd like a picture that is not included here, check with me, I just might have it since I don't have photos of everything I have. To see my all the items visit my "Statement Piece" Gallery. This sale will last through Sept. 30th. September SaleFor everything else (except clearance items) I am also offering a 25% discount on all items on my web site. Just enter "SUMMER2020" when checking out. This discount will be good through Sept. 30th. New WorkI teased a few shots at the top of this email of two trips to Michigan in the last three week. First was a vintage aircraft photo shoot at the Yankee Air Museum. For this we had reenactors with 100% authentic gear, models to recreate some WWII type pinup shots, and a night session featuring running planes, including a B17, a B-25 and a Ford Tri-Motor among others. I just returned a couple of days ago from a second trip photographing lighthouses on Lake Superior and Lake Michigan and got some great shots. For both of these I am still going through and processing my images, I've got many on my web site, but I have many more still to come, so be sure to check back again this weekend or next week. Stay safe! John |

| Ford Tri-Motor, Willow Run Bomber Plant, Michigan | The captain and officers briefing their crew prior to a mission in their B-25 Mitchell. Everything is period correct, with an actual WW2 map of Germany, period instruments, thermos, and other equipment. The reenactors traveled here from around the country and are meticulous in making sure their uniforms and equipment is 100% authentic. Several of them had to check multiple stores to find cigarettes with no filter, that's how authentic they are! | "Three Classic Beauties!"

Check out the leather mittens - it was in the 80s this day, and even hotter inside the plane, so you can imagine how hot these guys were while posing for us!
