Welcome to the new Regional Landcare Coordinator for Greater Sydney | | | | As the Regional Landcare Coordinator, Madeleine Florin will bring more opportunities for collaboration and capacity to our region - from Bushcare to Landcare and Coastcare.
Among other things, Madeleine will be supporting the Local Landcare Coordinators, the regional landcare networks, organising regional events and tapping into the NSW State Landcare Network. Please email Madeleine at madeleine.florin@lls.nsw.gov.au any experiences and vision you have for the region.
Madeleine will provide more details about landcare support in our region in future issues of the Landcare and Community News.
| | Have your say about the recent bushfires and Land Management Legislation The NSW Government Inquiry welcomes submissions from bushfire-affected residents, emergency and support staff, and the general public. The Australian Government is undertaking an inquiry into the efficacy of past and current vegetation and land management policy, practice and legislation and their affect on the intensity and frequency of bushfires and subsequent risk to property, life and the environment. Click HERE for more information. | | | | - The Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife's Wildlife Heroes Fund is accepting grant applications from licensed wildlife volunteer groups to support bushfire related activities. - Keep an eye on the Wettenhall Environment Trust's Small Environmental Grant Scheme, with four rounds every year. Grants are usually under $10,000 and focus on flora and fauna conservation or threatened mammal conservation. Click HERE for more information,
- The Sunrise Project Small Grants - up to $5,000. The focus is on reducing the impact of coal and gas industries on ecosystems.
- Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal - 'Tackling the tough times together grants' are always open. These grants help communities access the resources they need to support one another through the ongoing effects of drought. Grants of up to $20,000 are now available across drought-affected communities nationally. For more information, click HERE
