October Membership Drive Going Strong
|
We're half way through our Fall Membership drive. You can follow along in the Forums.Memberships don't automatically renew, so clinics might want to do some ol' fashioned outreach- either pick up the phone or send out some emails to former patient members. To figure which expired or current POCA members belong to your clinic check out this handy guide. There is a sample email and call script for contacting your patients who were former POCA members. If you have questions, please contact Shelby at membership@pocacoop.com.

Auricular AcuTechnician Training | by Caroline at Providence Community Acupuncture
We just trained our second ever cohort of Auricular AcuTechnicians (AATs) in Providence! 11 people from RI, MA, VT, and ME spent a weekend together learning how to put needles in ears for trauma, stress, addiction, and pain. Thanks to my awesome co-trainers in training, Daniel and Lourdes from Caminando la Utopía and Susan who has been leading advocacy to expand access to 5NP in Massachusetts! Want to become an AAT or an AAT trainer? Check out the details at https://www.pocacoop.com/earsPhoto credit: Phoebe Neel
| | | NCCAOM Certificate Changes
| The NCCAOM is changing the way certificates are issued for CEUs. As a result, POCA’s Department of Education will be required to follow suit. As our CEU courses come up for renewal, we will be changing the way you receive your certificate from NCCAOM. (California & Florida certificates will remain unchanged; you will download your own after you complete all the course requirements).
The change is that NCCAOM will email your certificate within 2 weeks of course completion. Please look for these in your inbox. The subject line will say “Certificate” and the sender will be “No Reply”. Within the email there will be a link and a passcode you’ll need to retrieve your certificate. If your spam filter is especially sensitive, please add no-reply@thenccaom.org to your accepted addresses list so you won’t miss this important email.
Please download them right away. POCA doesn't have copies of them. If you need them later, we'll have to request new ones from the NCCAOM.

All CEU certificates have been emailed. If you haven’t gotten yours, check the email address you put on your POCA Fest Attendance Sheet and your spam folder; it should be there.

Membership Circle is looking for more members for outreach or short writing projects and especially Membership Drive coordinators. Get that warm fuzzy sensation induced by connecting with others and providing alternatives to profit-driven healthcare. Meetings are 5pm PST the 3rd Monday of the month, but there is some flexibility. Or contact Shelby at membership@pocacoop.com
